Kinnie Starr

[mood |impressedimpressed]

Long time, no post. Let's do something about that, shall we?

Has anyone else seen this video? I was blown away, especially when it finally clicked and I figured out what she was covering. She turns it into a completely different song. I think it's pretty amazing, personally.

Kinnie Starr

when kinnie was touring with swing out sister last summer, she played here in philly at the troc. i have been a huge huge huge fan since i was like 15, but- very unfortunately- i was never ever able to see her live (either i was too young or she just not touring anywhere near me). her hitting up the troc, however, afforded me the chance to see her live- after waiting almost 9 1/2 years.

i was the only person at the venue who was there to see kinnie, and only kinnie. i met a few girls who liked both bands, but none of them were as into kinnie as i was.

to cut to the chase, she played, and i cried, and i was dancing, and jumping up and down. and i was the only one. haha. i felt kind of dumb, but hey.

anyway, afterwards, one of the lovely girls i'd met saw kinnie standing at the back of the crowd, before swing out sister came on. i was coaxed into going to talk to her, which is so not me, but this was like dreams coming true.

i approached her, and we got to chatting, and i cried again (god, so lame!), and then she asked if i wanted to head outside. we sat out in front of the troc for like 20 minutes, and we talked, and she told me about how she makes up words (foggify), and then she took a picture of us, and recorded me answering a question. she said she was going to put the things from tour up on her site, and email the pic, but she hasn't. haha. oh well.

anyway, she eventually had to leave, and i told her where to get an awesome cheesesteak.

it was, by far, the greatest moment of my life.

Kinnie Starr

[music |the jealous sound "hope for us"]

Hi. First post to this journal, so I guess I'll start with how much I love Kinnie Starr! She's absolutely amazing. I have her CDs and her movie, which I watch all the time. But her music is just so diverse and innovative. I love it all.

Second thing is I made some icons. I'm not really good at it, so nothing fancy or anything, but feel free to use them if you'd like. Comments and credit are nice. I take requests too, if you have a particular picture/lyric/combination you want, let me know.

Third, does anyone know what Kinnie is up to lately? Studio? Touring? Something else? Just curious.

So, hi! And enjoy!

Icons HereCollapse )
